THE YIN-YANG

Yin-Yang is a symbol that represents the ebb and flow of the cycles that bring balance to life. Anything which appears to be opposite, is really just parts of a larger whole and there is always a larger and smaller encompassing principle related to whatever it is that you are observing. The Moon causes the gravitational ebb and flow of the tides within the ocean, while the Earth in turn, causes the ebb and flow of the gravitational orbit of the Moon. The Earth pulls the Moon within the regular cycle of its orbit, and the Moon within this cycle pulls the tides based on its position around the Earth.

Harmony is a state of being that's always in flux, that is why Yin-Yang is designed to suggest hypnotic rotational movement. Within the tides, gravitational energy expresses itself in terrestrial waves that seem fleeting and mercurial. Massive entities like celestial bodies seem to glide through the heavens, sometimes so slowly it feels as though they do not move at all. While high tide may seem opposite to low tide, just as a waning Moon can seem like the opposite of a waxing Moon, they are all collectively a part of the cycles of balance in the gravitational relationship between the Earth and Moon.
