THE RAINBOW SERPENT

The Rainbow Serpent is a creator deity of the Aboriginal dreamtime reality. This figure relates the origin of the world to the destructive and reproductive forces associated with water. The Rainbow Serpent is recognized as a giver of life and the protector of water. The Rainbow Serpent slithers through the land, terraforming the formations that become mountains, valleys, oceans, lakes, rivers and waterholes. As water flows through the land, the flora and fauna begin to flourish, filling the world with life and color. It is believed that the Rainbow Serpent is the animistic spirit that exists within every rainbow. This deity is also treated with a considerable fearful reverence and austerity, because its passionate fury is associated with the cultivation of storms and cyclones.

The Kundalini is a Rainbow Serpent that is recognized in Hindu Yogic Tantric tradition. This energy is coiled at the base of the spine in the energy center known as Muladhara. This chakra is balanced in the center of the pelvis, so, Kundalini power expresses itself as sexual energy. The Kundalini pierces through each of the seven chakras like a serpent, weaving each energy center together, causing each one to swirl and pulse in harmony with one another. Each chakra is associated with one of the seven colors of the rainbow, so the realization of Kundalini awakening is met with orgasmic rainbow energy.  Similar to the concept of Dreamtime, the energy that embodies the Kundalini is referred to as an omniscient and eternal transcendent permanence within reality. The Kundalini is described as existing in all time, past, present, and future, within conscious, unconscious and subconscious thought and simultaneously existing in physical, emotional and psychological reality.
